Organized into 10-week programs throughout the year, the initiatives noted below encompass the primary curriculum carried out by trained personnel across all of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi’s Units.  These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals, maintain healthy, active lifestyles, and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.



The SMART Moves (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) prevention/education program addresses problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.

An outgrowth of the popular and effective SMART Moves program, SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education, and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8 to 17.

A program designed with age-appropriate lessons to educate youth about HIV/AIDS.

Act SMART is an HIV/AIDS prevention program designed for Club members ages 6-17. The program features age-appropriate units and activities that focus on health, decision-making and communication skills needed to practice healthy behaviors.
